Pilothouse Brewing will be located in the Quincy Place Shopping Center at South Buckley and Quincy Roads in Aurora, with plans to open in 2018. The nautical themed taproom will include up 32 tap handles for both the ‘pilot’ recipes of amateur brewers and their own ‘house’ crafted beers. The taproom and outdoor patio will draw their design inspiration from the founder’s love of sailing and the sights of coastal New England, from Newport, Rhode Island to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and will feature a real sailing yacht’s binnacle (sailboat steering wheel, pedestal, compass, and fold-out teak table with cushioned bench-style seating around it) for patrons to enjoy.

The Brewery Design is done, the Building Permit has been issued, and Construction has begun for new Tap Room and Brew House for the Former Future Brewing Company.

Bacon Lane Architect LLC began working with the Former Future ownership in June of 2013 to provide planning, layout and brewery design services for this new Brew House and Tap room to be located in “SoBo’s” States Antique District at 1290 South Broadway.   The brewery design for the commercial facility is a combination of, innovative materials, adaptive re-use, and artistic elements intended to create a neighborhood and customer friendly environment where the patron can relax and enjoy a historical recipe with an innovative twist.  Special care was taken to retain many existing elements with-in the space as well as create a flexible, process respective brewing environment in full view of the patron.

BSB | “Tap Room” is set and waiting for the first patrons

Black Sky Brewery now “On-Tap”.  The newest addition to the local brewing community opened for business September 25, 2013 serving fine brews, heavy metal, and great pizza.  Black sky opened at 490 Santa Fe Drive, just south of the Santa Fe Arts district into a former industrial dry cleaner space that serves its metal motif perfectly with a hard rock edge.

Bacon Lane Architect LLC contributed brewery design services to the project by lending logistical support and design modification required for the change of occupancy and to obtain building permits from the City of States, bringing this Tap Room, Brewery, and Commercial Kitchen to life.
